End of the Line
Posted by admin on Saturday Oct 22, 2011 Under UncategorizedI am sad to announce the end of my involvement with The Eternal Warriors.
Between Dice Like Thunder and The Eternal Warriors, we have striven to put out a decent show and, indeed, have done that … mostly … for 125 episodes. As a group we have had good times and we hope that enjoyment and enthusiasm comes through to you. With all honesty, the time spent doing the hobby we all love with the group of people we did it with were probably some of the best times in my life.
I am more sad to say that I’ve lost a few friends in the process.
Regretfully, I chose not to curb my tongue when answering a specific question in a conversation that I thought was private. When that conversation was revealed for noble, but ultimately selfish, reasons in a semi-public forum, my comments alienated the friendship I have with Chris and Joe from Screaming Heretic Radio.
In the end, DLT and TEW are not important. While I have never lost site of this, I did lose site of the fact that words can hurt even when you do not intend them to. For my actions and words that affected Chris, Erin, Joe and Jen I must profess my sincere apologies. Only in the aftermath of my mistake did I realize the full impact of my statement and the ignorance that spewed from my mouth.
In retrospect, if DLT or TEW had never been conceived, I would be the richer man because it would mean that podcasting politics would not have gotten in the way of what is important: friendship. That Chris does not call me a friend bothers me in a way that’s worse than the death of the only other true friend I’ve lost.
I must give thanks to everyone who has ever listened to our shows and supported us. Stay strong with your game, the hobby, but most importantly, stay strong with your friends.
